Hello! I'm Natalie
Traveller, Reader, WriterLoving the Simple Life
There’s nothing I love more than a good book on a golden fall day with a cozy cup of hot chocolate. Or a slow Sunday morning in bed full of cuddles and sleepy eyes. Or the pleasure of a good, phone-less meal with Doug.
These are the small, simple moments that make life wonderful. In the Instagram model, snap the moment, media frenzy world we live in today, it’s easy to forget that the truly lovely moments of life happen in the margin. In the unplanned, uncaptured moments.
This blog is an ode to those moments. To the crazy adventures that don’t make it on our stories, the laugh-till-my-belly hurts inside jokes with friends, the smell of cinnamon rolls rising in the oven. Kick your shoes off, curl up on the couch and enjoy a moment with Simple Love.
More About Me
In 1994 I was born in Orlando, Florida. That is probably the least interesting thing about me. In order, the most interesting things about me are that I’m a red-headed Cuban, between the ages of 12 – 17 I lived in 3.5 different countries, when I was 17 I was chased by monkeys in the Kipengere Range (Tanzania) while trekking out to Lake Nyasa.
Today I live a much quieter, monkey-free life. As a full-time digital marketing professional and digital story-teller, I work with clients to help them establish and expand their digital presence. Most of my work is done from a very tiny desk at home, but sometimes my work might take me to interesting places like El Salvador or Kenya as I capture stories for clients.
When I’m not working and sipping on coffee, you can find me curled up with a good book, plotting my next adventure with Doug, or watching Netflix because I am, after all, just a regular 20-something-year-old girl.

How We Budget Monthly To Afford Travel
I talk about budgeting for travel a lot. But, I’m really just talking about budgeting. Because if we don’t have budgeting down, we won’t be able to budget for travel. I know this from experience. I’m the worst budgeter in the world. I won’t bore you (or embarrass...
